I had met with Lisa & Andre for a Buyer Planning Session about a year before they were actually ready to start the home buying process. They were so good in that one year period – they did everything we discussed in our planning session plus they got married too!
When they were set to start, we met again to have a full buyer consultation to go over the complete home buying process.
We set a time to go out and view the four best homes that we’d seen online. The fourth and last house on the list was soooo perfect for them. In fact it was more house than they ever thought they would get in their budget. After spending an hour at the property a decision was made to put in an offer.
You can’t imagine how upset they were to find out the house had sold conditionally the day before (I was not very happy either) !!!
I was going to the US for a National Association Of Realtors conference the next day but for some reason I typed up an offer and sent it over to Lisa & Andre and told them to put out positive thoughts that this was going to be their home.
At the same time I called the agent and said if the existing offer looked remotely like it was not going smoothly to let me know right away.
I had not been in New Orleans a full day when the listing agent called and said the other agent had done the home inspection and everything was looking good but they had not yet handed in their deposit cheque.
I went in to action telling the agent not to do anything with the other agent. I called Lisa & Andre and we discussed strategy on how to get this house. They signed the offer and we sent it in and by midnight the house was theirs!!!!
We made sure we had a bank draft for our home purchase deposit in to the listing agent the first thing the next day.
It was the power of positive thinking!!
