Mike had selling his house on his mind for over a year before it actually came time to put it on the market. Sally and I both made a few visits to chat and review what still needed to be done and what he did not have to do to get it sold.
During the warm weather he was able to get the front of his house freshly painted and get rid of some pesky pigeons. As usual, there were bits here and there on the inside that Mike had always meant to do but now needed to complete before selling.
Sally told Mike when he bought it several years ago that it was “the worst house she’d ever sold”. Mike had seen the potential and did a really nice renovation for himself transforming a 3-bedroom home into lots of open space.
The challenge was now going to be finding a buyer for a one-bedroom house. Fortunately he’d done a nice job and it was in a great ‘right downtown’ location – perfect for a single person or a couple who wanted more space than in a condo.
Since there were no exact comparables, we decided to test the market with a certain price and see what the reaction was. I’ve learned that every home has the perfect buyer waiting for it and it turned out that this time we had three!
